Ai Portali is a modern and comfortable Bed and Breakfast in the historical centre of San Quirico d’Orcia. The building is located on the historical Via Francigena next to the former Palazzo Pretorio and overlooks the main medieval buildings of the village such as the Collegiata Church and the Palazzo Chigi-Zondadari. On the second floor of the building, you will find our B&B Ai Portali comprising three airy rooms each with its own private bathroom and equipped with all comforts there is also a common room where you are welcome to relax and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.

This room has three windows overlooking the historic ‘Via Francigena’ (a Pilgrim route to Rome). It takes its name from the doorway dating from the end of 1200 by the Italian sculptor and architect Giovanni Pisano.

This room is situated along the Via Francigena and is named after the second, side doorway of the Collegiata Church in San Quirico d’Orcia, known as the ‘Transetto’ or Transept.

From this room, which also has a terrace, there is a glimpse of the Val d’Orcia and the town of Montalcino. Its name is taken from the oldest doorway of the Collegiata Church in San Quirico d’Orcia, that is to say the Main doorway.
